Doctor en ingenería de Energía y Ambiente de la Universidad de Mälardalen en Västerås, Suecia, 2016. Magíster en Ingeniería de Energía de la misma Universidad en 2008 e Ingeniero Electrónico de la Universidad Tecnológica de Bolívar en 2003. Actualmente, Javier Campillo es profesor asociado de la UTB, donde continúa desarrollando modelos computacionales y montajes experimentales para simular sistemas de distribución eléctricos activos con alta penetración de generación distribuida, especialmente proveniente de fuentes de energía renovable y vehículos eléctricos.

  • Proyecto Europeo FP7  “Planning for Energy Efficiency Cities (PLEEC - pleecproject.eu)" donde se desarrolló un modelo de planeación para ciudades de tamaño mediano en Europa para reducir su impacto ambiental al reducir sus emisiones, basura e incrementar su eficiencia energética.
